Cangiante
View InfoCatalogue and ephemera for the exhibition Cangiante, at CAAB – Centro de Arqueologia e Artes de Beja.
Based on the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Collection and curated by Antonia Gaeta, the exhibition promotes a dialogue between various works, techniques and materials of a selection of artists (represented in the Collection) alongside guest artists Ana Manso and Dayana Lucas.
Cangiante is an Italian word that derives from the late Latin cambiare, meaning “to change” and also an iridescent colour that changes its tone depending on the light. It’s an effect or a sensation, a mutant variable.
The visual identity plays with this concept, not just through colour, but mostly typography as the title is sectioned in a playful and flexible way throughout a variety of formats. The catalogue tries to translated the fluid dialogue the exhibition enacts between the different artworks and languages, as well as to give scale to the artworks to be fully immersed in them.
