Mika Rottenberger

View Info

First monograph of artist Mika Rottenberg focusing on her 5 main video works to date—Tropical Breeze (2004), Mary’s Cherries (2004), Dough (2006), Cheese (2008) and Squeeze (2010)—published by de Appel Amsterdam & Gregory R. Miller & Co.

Designed while interning at Project Projects.

The book comprises a number of “visual sequences” which stage the artist’s  work by crossing art photographs, video stills, installation images, associative research and idea diagrams with making of images from each video work. In addition, those are alternated with key essays and interviews with Rottenberg’s hired performers of extreme physiques, providing an unique insight into the artist’s scenarios of absurdist labor and post-industrial production.
